Hatha Yoga is the most widely practiced form of yoga in America. It is the branch of yoga which concentrates on physical health and mental well-being. Hatha yoga uses bodily postures (asanas), breathing techniques (pranayama), and meditation (dyana) with the goal of bringing about a sound, healthy body and a clear, peaceful mind. There are nearly 200 hatha yoga postures, with hundreds of variations, which work to make the spine supple and to promote circulation in all the organs, glands, and tissues. Hatha yoga postures also stretch and align the body, promoting balance and flexibility.

Tibetan Yoga for Youthfulness. It is a 45 minute program based upon ancient Tibetan principles. It was brought into the current period through the claims of celebrities like Madonna and Sting. As you may have now learned, there are 7 major energy centers in the body referred to as Chakras. These energy centers are located from the crown of the head till the base of the spine. The Tibetan method will help to balance the 7 spinning chakras in the body. Through these exercises, the endocrine glands get stimulated, regulating the different organ systems in the body. The morning asana practice consisits of a repetition of several poses that work on 4 systems in our body like cardiovascular system, respiratory system, digestive system, nervous system. When we are young these chakras tend to rotate very fast which allows the prana-shakti known as the life force to flow freely in our body keeping us in good health. But as you grow older and if you have an unhealthy or irregular lifestyle then these chakras either slow down or get blocked, which invites early old age and sickness in the body. Our morning practice is intended to reverse these trends in our bodies and renew cells and energy.
